Living in Berlin, Turkish couple Nazlı (26), a curator, and Orkun (34), a DJ, are quietly drifting apart and into crisis: Each hiding a life-altering secret from the other. Orkun, unable to prove a stable income, is on the verge of losing his residence permit and facing deportation,. Meanwhile, on the eve of the first big exhibition of her career, Nazlı discovers she is pregnant but cannot bring herself to tell him.
Overwhelmed by anxiety, Orkun has already distanced himself from their shared life, living at the apartment of his Berlin-born and well off friend Mete, whom Nazlı openly dislikes for his womanizing ways. When Orkun receives news of his grandmother’s death, news that brings unexpected relief rather than grief, an opportunity emerges: With the prospect of attending the funeral and selling the inherited house to ease his financial burdens, Orkun drags Nazlı and Mete off on a journey from Berlin to Güzeldere one October morning.
In this quiet holiday resort, buried tensions rise to the surface. As friendship, class dynamics, and the fragility of love are put to the test and their personal dilemmas collide with larger social realities, a whirlwind sweeps locals, refugees, migrant workers and Orkun and his friends’ lives into utter chaos.
